Liverpool are moving to secure the signing of Spanish striker Víctor Muñoz, currently at Osasuna, overcoming interest from Newcastle United. The advanced negotiation aims to strengthen the English club’s offensive sector, according to reports.

The search for reinforcements on the wings has intensified for the team, especially after the imminent departure of Mohamed Salah. Víctor Muñoz, who was called up to the Spanish team for the next World Cup, has a contractual fine set at 40 million euros, equivalent to approximately R$237.67 million.

The young athlete, aged 22, almost signed a deal with Newcastle, but indications now point to a six-year deal with Liverpool. The amount for the transfer will be paid in two stages, and a delegation from the Anfield club is already in the United States for the player to undergo medical examinations, the final phase before the contract is formalized.

Muñoz’s career includes spells in the youth divisions of major clubs such as Barcelona and Real Madrid, where he played in four matches for the Merengue main team. This training at two rival academies highlights a rare and robust technical background for an athlete of his age, preparing him for different playing philosophies at a high level. His arrival at Osasuna, in July 2025, cost around 5 million euros. In the last Spanish championship, he found the back of the net six times in 34 LALIGA appearances.

Liverpool’s need for new names in attack is clear, and Muñoz is considered the ideal profile to bring more speed and firepower down the flanks. In addition to Salah’s probable farewell, the club faces the loss of French striker Hugo Ekitike, who will be out until 2027 due to an Achilles tendon injury, and the possible departure of Italian winger Federico Chiesa.

In addition to Muñoz, other findings indicate that Liverpool is monitoring the performance of Yan Diomande, from RB Leipzig, and Bradley Barcola, from Paris Saint-Germain. However, the signing of these athletes may face strong competition from other major European football clubs.
