The 8th Turma of Tribunal Regional of Trabalho of the 2nd Região confirmed the conviction of Corinthians to pay compensation and pension to the former base player Kauê Moreira of Souza. The total value remains at approximately R$2.5 million, according to calculation by lawyer Filipe Rino. The second instance decision modifies some values in relation to the first instance conviction, but extends the pension payment period until Kauê turns 75 years old.
The judges changed the structure of compensation after analyzing appeals presented by both the former athlete’s defense and the club. Compensation for moral damages increased from R$50,000 to R$200,000. Simultaneamente, compensation for material damages corresponding to 12 months’ salary was established, totaling R$144 thousand based on the salary of R$12 thousand recorded in 2021.

The total amount of the pension will be paid in a single payment by Corinthians.
