Buyers preparing for Black Friday 2026 in Brazil face a gap of R$2,900 between the PS5 Pro and the digital PS5. The standard console looks like the more balanced choice, because Sony’s suggested prices and a global shortage of RAM modules leave retailers little room for deep discounts in the coming weeks.

Prices rose again this year. Sony raised its suggested prices in Brazil from April 2, 2026, citing continued pressure on the global economy, and the PS5 Pro went from R$6,999.90 to R$7,499.90. In the Black Friday 2025 promotions, the PS5 Pro sold for R$4,806.00, while the base console was sold from R$2,499.00 in bundles.

The price picture calls for early planning, since the gap between the two models is wide. Shoppers hoping for steep cuts may find the supply limits described further below.

GTA VI reportedly stays at 30 fps on both consoles

Grand Theft Auto VI is the main technical reference for the purchase at the end of the year. Reverse-engineering analyses and preliminary data point to Rockstar Games keeping the game locked at 30 frames per second on both machines. Rockstar set the release for November 19, 2026, on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, and digital pre-loading starts on November 12, 2026.

Certification rules also keep the game away from the enhanced badge of the new console. To receive Sony’s official seal, a title must use image reconstruction to reach at least 2,160 horizontal lines of native resolution. Because that target demands more raw power than dense open worlds can comfortably handle, the final picture on the two machines should show no striking contrast.

Recent large games still run well on the 2020 console. Titles built on Unreal Engine 5, such as Black Myth: Wukong and Silent Hill 2, run with steady graphics on the standard model. Sony’s software updates added upscaling routines to the standard PS5, which keeps the image sharp on mid-range televisions.

Screens, audio and controllers add to the PS5 Pro bill

Buying the advanced console does not end the expense for buyers who want top audiovisual quality. The PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution keeps frame stability while scaling images, but it depends on screens with HDMI 2.1 ports that support 120 hertz or 8K signals. Tempest 3D audio systems and modular controllers raise the bill further for anyone who wants the full power of the machine.

Owners of standard 60 hertz televisions are unlikely to notice many refinements. Sony also sells the PS5 Pro without a built-in disc drive, in line with its fully digital distribution approach, so owners of PS4 discs or used media must buy the drive separately in stores.

The separate drive adds to the total budget for the change of generation. Buyers should count it alongside the console price before deciding.

Suggested prices and lowest 2026 deals recorded in Brazil

  • PS5 Digital Edition: suggested price R$4,599.90; lowest 2026 promotional price R$2,881.35
  • PS5 with disc drive: suggested price R$5,099.90; lowest 2026 promotional price R$3,267.14
  • PS5 Pro: suggested price R$7,499.90; lowest 2026 promotional price R$4,599.00, and R$4,806.00 during Black Friday 2025
  • Complementary gear: 120 hertz screen, 3D audio headset and standalone disc drive

Memory shortage could cap Black Friday discounts on the PS5

The inflation hitting the semiconductor sector affects more than shelf prices. A severe shortage of RAM in Asian markets slowed factory lines and raised warnings of stock breaks for major Brazilian retailers. In Japan, strong demand combined with limited shipments forced a lottery system to decide which buyers could purchase units without paying an extortionate premium.

In Brazil, imported lots may restock slowly if demand in the last quarter of 2026 exceeds the forecasts of authorized importers. Aggressive clearance sales look unlikely, because retailers need to rebuild their margins. Buyers who find the standard console near its lowest 2026 prices should decide without delay.

Games such as Fortnite, Call of Duty titles and football games run identically on both consoles, so the extra spending brings no competitive gain in matches.
