Sony collects user feedback on PS Plus after increasing prices for all plans
Sony initiated a round of email surveys among PS5 and PS4 users to assess perception of the Plus PS service. The questionnaire was triggered after confirmation of price increases on all 3 available subscription plans.
According to an internal PlayStation statement, the feedback collected will help improve the service. The survey covers topics that cover the full range of features currently offered by the game streaming platform.
Quais aspects are evaluated in the research
Sony asks users’ level of satisfaction regarding the following points:
- Acesso to games available through subscription
- Experiência online multiplayer
- Descontos on PS Store
- 100 GB of cloud storage for game saves
- Valor subscription total
Além In addition, the company asks how likely it is that the user will renew the subscription when it expires, with options ranging from “very likely” to “very unlikely”. The survey concludes with open-ended questions about which consoles the user owns and what would make the PlayStation Plus experience more rewarding.
Reação from users to new values
An independent survey carried out with users in the Push Square community revealed that 64% of respondents consider the PS Plus Essential to be not good value for money in 2026. The result reflects general dissatisfaction with the increases announced by Sony.
Apenas the Essential plan increase has been publicly disclosed. However, it turned out that PS Plus Extra and PS Plus Premium also had their values increased. The new prices for 1-month subscriptions are now in effect as follows:
- PS Plus Essential: from $9.99 to $10.99 (dollars); from £6.99 to £7.99 (pound); from €8.99 to €9.99 (euro)
- PS Plus Extra: from $14.99 to $16.99 (dollars); from £10.99 to £11.99 (pound); from €13.99 to €15.99 (euro)

Impacto on 3-month plans
The increases also affect quarterly subscriptions. The PS Plus Essential went from $24.99 to $27.99 in dollars, £19.99 to £21.99 in pounds and €24.99 to €27.99 in euros. The Extra plan rose from $39.99 to $43.99, £31.99 to £34.99 and €39.99 to €43.99 over the same periods.
The Premium plan was increased from $49.99 to $54.99 in dollars, £39.99 to £43.99 in pounds and €49.99 to €54.99 in euros. Prices apply to new users or those whose subscription expires and is renewed.
Contexto of price change
Sony justified the increases by citing continued investments in technology, content and user experience. The company argues that the constant improvement of the platform justifies the review of values. The measure affects millions of subscribers globally and marks the second round of significant increases in less than 2 years.
Collecting feedback is now strategic for Sony to understand which aspects of the service users value most and where there is room for improvement. The data collected should guide future decisions about content, functionalities and possible adjustments to the portfolio of available plans.
