Latam Airlines Brasil presented this Tuesday (9) the first Embraer E195-E2 that will join its fleet. The aircraft was shown at the manufacturer’s facilities, in São José dos Campos (SP), with the company’s final paintwork.

The plane will still go through the final stages of assembly, testing and certification before actual delivery. The entry into commercial operation is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2026, initially on domestic routes in Brazil.

Billionaire request

The aircraft is part of a firm order for 24 units, valued at US$2.1 billion (around R$10.6 billion). There are also options for another 50 planes. The agreement was announced in September 2025 and aims to strengthen Latam’s connectivity in South America.

Internal configuration

Latam’s E195-E2 will have capacity for up to 136 passengers. The model adopts a premium economy configuration, with more space than the traditional economy. The rows have only two seats on each side of the aisle, with no middle seat.

This arrangement improves comfort on shorter-distance flights, a segment in which the plane will be used to expand the company’s offering on strategic routes.

Model versatility

The E195-E2 is the largest passenger jet produced in Brazil and is part of the second generation of Embraer E-Jets. To date, 169 units of this version have been delivered worldwide, with another 255 firm orders.

Operators include companies such as KLM Cityhopper, Azul, Scoot and Virgin Australia Regional Airlines. The plane stands out for its ability to operate at airports with restrictions, such as Santos Dumont, in Rio de Janeiro, and London City Airport.

Sustainability and performance

The model is certified to use up to 50% sustainable aviation fuel (SAF). With a range of 5,556 km when fully charged, it reaches speeds of up to 870 km/h.
