Amazon Prime Day 2026 promotions kicked off with a pre-sale phase, making a wide range of gaming equipment and virtual reality devices available at significant discounts. The special offer window for Prime members is now active in Japan, promising more affordable prices for products like the PlayStation 5 Digital Edition and the advanced Meta Quest 3S headsets. This preliminary period will extend until July 9th, setting the stage for the main sales celebration.
Strategic start of offers: how Prime Day and pre-sales work
Amazon Prime Day is a global sales event that offers thousands of exclusive discounts for Prime service subscribers. In 2026, the special programming began with a strategic pre-sale on July 7, allowing consumers to take advantage of some of the best promotions in advance before the main phase. This early access is a valuable opportunity to secure high-demand items, avoiding the rush and potential shortages that can occur during the main event, July 10-13. To participate in the promotions, it is essential to be an Amazon Prime member, and you can enjoy a 30-day free trial period for new users.
Exclusive discounts on digital PlayStation 5
Sony PlayStation is present in pre-sales with attractive PlayStation 5 Digital Edition sets (model CFI-2200B01). The packages include the console accompanied by accessories or PlayStation Store credits, offering an economic advantage compared to purchasing the items individually.
- Among the available options, the following stand out:
- PS5 Digital Edition bundle with a total of 8,000 yen in PlayStation Store vouchers (online codes).
- PS5 Digital Edition set accompanied by the official Sony Atlas 200 gaming headset.

Virtual reality technology with special prices
Virtual reality enthusiasts will also find excellent pre-order opportunities, with several high-end devices offering reduced prices. Among them, the Meta Quest 3S stands out with 128 GB and 256 GB models, offering significant improvements in performance.
The Meta Quest 3S comes with an exclusive bonus, gifting buyers with the ‘Gorilla Tag’ game for free. This improved model has 33% more memory and twice the graphics processing capacity compared to its predecessor, promising an even more fluid and detailed immersive experience for users.
Advanced accessories for VR immersion
In addition to headsets, the 2026 Amazon Prime Day pre-sale also covers a wide selection of virtual reality accessories, ideal for those looking to enhance the total immersion experience. Several tracker models are available, allowing full body tracking for more realistic interaction in virtual environments.
- The HTC VIVE lineup offers a variety of essential trackers and add-ons:
- HTC VIVE Tracker 3.0 (home version).
