Al-Hilal, a Saudi Arabian club, confirmed on Monday, July 21, 2026, the acquisition of striker Crysencio Summerville, who stood out for the Netherlands in the World Cup. The Saudi team reached an agreement with West Ham, from England, for 80 million euros, the equivalent of approximately R$464 million in current conversion. The completion of the deal is still subject to the player’s medical examinations.

The 24-year-old athlete is expected to sign a contract with Al-Hilal lasting until 2029. Previously, Summerville had a contract with West Ham also valid until the same year, indicating that the Saudi club needed to make a robust offer to get him out of his current contract.

Highlight in the World Cup valued the Dutch striker

During his participation in the World Cup, Summerville was on the field in four matches for the Dutch national team, contributing two goals and two assists. He scored in matches against Japan and Sweden, but unfortunately missed a penalty in the contest against Morocco, which resulted in the Netherlands being eliminated at the round of 32 stage of the tournament.

The striker’s debut for the Dutch main team took place in June, shortly before the start of the World Championship. Its impressive performance in global competition was a determining factor in increasing its market value, attracting the attention of several teams on the European continent.

European competition for the player and negotiation values

The Italian club Roma had made a preliminary offer of 46 million euros, which is equivalent to around R$267 million, but was unable to reach an agreement with West Ham. Other European giants, such as Manchester United and Aston Villa, also showed interest and requested information about the player, but did not make transfer proposals official.

Initially, West Ham was willing to release Summerville for a sum close to 60 million euros, which represents approximately R$348 million. Al-Hilal’s offer, however, exceeded this expectation by 20 million euros, demonstrating the Saudi club’s willingness to invest heavily to guarantee the signing of the young talent.

Since arriving at West Ham in 2024, Summerville has made 56 appearances for the English team. Last season, he participated in 34 matches, where he found the net seven times and provided five assists, demonstrating his offensive contribution before his departure to Al-Hilal.
