The Brazilian team confirmed its schedule of international commitments for the end of 2026, with a series of friendlies scheduled in Oceania and Asia. In addition to the clashes already announced against Australia, the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) is also articulating a clash with India and possible participation in a tournament in Singapore, which would include the host team, Paraguay and Japan. The choice of these nations reflects a strategy to expand presence and test the squad in several global markets.
Although the Brazilian Football Confederation is awaiting the formalization of contracts for an official announcement, negotiations are already at an advanced stage. As planned, the Brazilian squad will face Australia on September 25th, in the city of Townsville, and again on September 29th, in Brisbane. Afterwards, Carlo Ancelotti’s team will head to Calcutta, India, for the clash scheduled on October 3.
In November, the Brazilian team is expected to participate in a tournament in Singapore, thus ending the World Cup calendar year. The event is organized by Japan, which also extended invitations to the Singapore team and Paraguay. The structure of the competition is similar to that of the Kirin Cup, known for its focused games, with Brazil projected to face Asian teams between November 9th and 17th.
With this schedule, the Brazilian team will have, by the end of the year, at least three games against teams that reached the knockout stages of the previous World Cup: Australia, on two occasions, and Japan. The uncertainty hangs over a possible duel with Paraguay in the tournament in Singapore.
Neymar’s absence marks a new phase for the Brazilian team
Carlo Ancelotti returned to the capital of Rio de Janeiro on July 29, 2026 to begin the observation process and plan future call-ups, looking for new talent with a focus on the 2028 Copa América and the 2030 World Cup. The expectation is that the preliminary list of players for the September and October clashes will be sent to FIFA by September 6.
The Italian coach has played 17 matches ahead of the national team, spread across four qualifying matches, eight friendlies and five duels during the 2026 World Cup. Under his management, Ancelotti won ten victories, recorded three draws and experienced four defeats, with a balance of 31 goals for and 15 against.
