A 24-year-old woman, who had been missing for five days, was rescued bound by restraints, gag and chains to a bed in Águas Lindas de Goiás. The captivity was located in a residence in Setor Jardim América III, in the surrounding region of the Federal District, on August 21, 2026, revealing the seriousness of kidnappings motivated by abusive relationships and the history of violence.

The man identified as the victim’s ex-partner was arrested in the act, on suspicion of being the perpetrator of the kidnapping. According to information from the Military Police, the location of the captivity was only possible after the arrest of the individual, who tried to escape at high speed in a vehicle.

At the scene, the woman was immobilized with ropes, handcuffs and chains, in addition to wearing a mask that made it difficult for her to breathe. The Fire Department worked to remove the objects that trapped her, and she was then taken to the Municipal Hospital of Águas Lindas de Goiás, where her health was considered stable.

Ex-partner confesses to kidnapping young woman

According to information from the Civil Police, Ailton, the suspect, admitted to having sedated the woman with the use of antidepressant medication before transporting her to the house where she was located.

During the police action, a pistol was found and seized from the property. The individual now faces charges for kidnapping and illegal possession of a firearm.

Disappearance timeline and investigation

The family had reported the young woman’s disappearance to the authorities on August 17, 2026. The last time she was seen was captured by a security camera, leaving a clinic in the Jardim Barragem I neighborhood and heading towards Sector 10.

The Civil Police revealed that preliminary investigations pointed to a history of domestic violence involving the couple. The exact reason for the kidnapping, however, remains under investigation.

Authorities also reported that the suspect, Ailton, had not been seen since the same date of August 17, 2026. He allegedly ended his business activities, left his residence and abandoned his vehicles.
