Supply chain sources indicate that Apple maintains extremely high standards for production quality, requiring a minimum yield rate of around 70% for finished products. Samsung Display would have surpassed this mark, reaching more than 80% yield and already starting mass production.
Also according to several sources, Samsung Display will be the exclusive supplier of Apple’s foldable OLED panels for the first three years. The new displays promise to improve brightness, color accuracy and energy efficiency, using technologies such as CoE and the M16 OLED material set.
In terms of design, the foldable iPhone is expected to have a main screen measuring approximately 7.8 inches when fully opened. This size is close to that of the iPad mini, with the aim of offering an expanded viewing area for entertainment and work activities.
The external screen, in turn, should be around 5.5 inches. Unlike the elongated format of current iPhone models, this external screen may have a more square proportion, resembling a small notebook when the device is folded.

It is possible that Apple will choose not to include the Face ID feature in this new model. In its place, there is a high probability that the Touch ID fingerprint sensor will be integrated into the side power button, serving for unlocking and authenticating payments.
So far, Apple has not released any official information about a foldable iPhone. However, if speculation is confirmed, the September event could mark the company’s formal entry into the foldable smartphone market, after years of planning and development.
