An employee stabbed the lives of three colleagues at the Bombril facilities, in São Bernardo do Campo, in the ABC Paulista region, on the morning of August 1st. The attacker, who was off duty, had gone to the company specifically to attack two workers; a third victim was injured while trying to intervene.
The attack took place around 5:50 am in the unit located on Avenida Marginal Direita Anchieta, in the Rudge Ramos neighborhood, close to Rodovia Anchieta. The incident was formalized as a triple homicide at the city’s 2nd Police Station.
The victims were identified as José Guilherme Victoriano de Moura, 54 years old, lecturer; Edvaldo Santos da Silva, 44 years old, supervisor; and Douglas de Souza Vieira, 39 years old, forklift operator.
Bombril declared that the professional was an outsourced employee and that he had an outburst before attacking his co-workers.
According to police records, the Military Police were called to respond to a call of stabbing. Upon arriving at the factory, the agents found the victims on the floor and the suspect already immobilized by others present.
The individual identified as responsible for the crime was named as Claudio Henrique da Silva, aged 33, also a forklift operator from the same company. Witnesses reported in the bulletin that he was off work that day, but had gone to his workplace with the premeditated aim of carrying out the attack.
Witness statements to the police suggest that Claudio may have been a victim of bullying by two of the people attacked. This information, however, still depends on investigation and has not received official confirmation.
According to reports, the third victim was injured when he intervened to try to prevent the attack on the other two workers. The police document does not specify the order of events or whether there were previous records of disagreements between those involved.
After being restrained, Claudio was taken to the 2nd Police District of São Bernardo do Campo, accompanied by witnesses. He later died in prison, in an incident classified by police as suicide. The Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu) was called and certified the death.
The incident record was still being prepared on the morning of August 1st and would later be forwarded to the responsible delegate for evaluation.
