Rockstar Games announced that an “expanded look” at the highly anticipated game Grand Theft Auto VI will be available on the company’s official YouTube channel on August 27, 2026, starting at 10 p.m. PDT.
Before being released on YouTube, the material will have an initial and exclusive screening on the Netflix platform, starting at 4pm on the same date. This partnership means that fans without access to the service will be able to watch the performance free of charge, waiting around six hours. The official Grand Theft Auto VI website will also stream the video.
Is the new GTA 6 footage really trailer 3?
Despite great expectations from the community, Rockstar is not releasing this material as the third official trailer for the game. The company refers to it only as “an extended look,” keeping both its length and exact content secret.
Speculations about the format include the possibility of a conventional trailer, scenes never seen before, explanations about the game’s universe or, who knows, the first in-depth demonstration of the gameplay. However, none of these options had official confirmation.
To date, Grand Theft Auto VI has already had two major trailers released. The first was released in December 2023, and the second came in May 2025, showing new sequences with the characters Jason and Lucia, as well as different areas of the state of Leonida.
Places and times to watch the new GTA 6 video
The confirmed schedule for August 27, 2026 includes:
- Netflix: at 4pm Brasília time
- Rockstar Games YouTube: 10pm Brasília time
- GTA 6 official website: at 10pm Brasília time
The advance screening on Netflix is the result of a pioneering collaboration between the streaming service and Rockstar. This partnership marks an innovative promotional strategy for a AAA title. It is important to highlight that the content will not remain exclusive to subscribers, as it will be made available on YouTube on the same day.
Grand Theft Auto VI will be set in the fictional state of Leonida, an area inspired by Florida, including a contemporary recreation of Vice City. The plot follows Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos, a duo who find themselves involved in a criminal plot after an initially simple task takes an unexpected turn.
The official release of Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled for November 19, 2026, with editions confirmed for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S|X.
