Rockstar Games confirms new GTA 6 trailer with extended gameplay excerpts
Rockstar Games ended a period of expectation and confirmed the date to show more details about GTA 6. On August 6, 2026, the studio officially announced that the public will be able to check out “Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look”, an extended presentation of the long-awaited game, which will take place on August 27, 2026.
The announcement of this date marks a new moment in the GTA 6 promotional campaign, which gained strength with the start of pre-sales, but faced criticism due to the lack of a complete gameplay video. To date, Rockstar has only shown cinema-style trailers and screenshots as the community waits for a more in-depth demonstration of the gameplay experience.

The announcement should also help to stop the spread of fake videos created with artificial intelligence, which have been widely circulating on social media. In recent days, countless montages that simulate mechanics that don’t exist in the game have accumulated millions of views, precisely due to the lack of new official material from the developer.
Watch GTA 6 extended gameplay first on Netflix
As announced by Rockstar, the video “Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look” will first be shown on the Netflix streaming platform on August 27, 2026, starting at 4 pm, Brasília time.
Hours later, on the same day, the content will also be made available on Rockstar Games’ official YouTube channels and on the GTA 6 website, starting at 10pm, also Brasília time. The company did not provide information about the length of the presentation or which aspects of the game will be detailed.
The developer also released a brief promotional video to announce the broadcast, choosing to maintain the mystery regarding what will be shown in the presentation. However, everything indicates that fans will finally have access to gameplay details of the new title.

The end of Rockstar Games’ silence on the development of GTA 6
This confirmation represents Rockstar’s first major official update since pre-orders for GTA 6 began at the end of June 2026. Since then, the company has maintained a discreet stance, without releasing new trailers, gameplay videos or new information about the project.
The scarcity of details ended up fueling a series of rumors about the game, including speculation about a possible new postponement and the proliferation of videos created with artificial intelligence that simulated gameplay scenes. With the event becoming official, the expectation is that players will get a clearer view of the Leonida experience before launch.
