Marvel Studios reveals cast of new X-Men at D23 with Adam Driver and Sadie Sink
After a period of intense speculation, Marvel Studios has officially announced the actors who will be part of the new “X-Men” team. The revelation took place on July 14, bringing long-awaited names for the next phase of mutants in the cinematic universe.
The event chosen for the important communication was D23, a Disney convention based in Anaheim, California, where details about the new heroes and villains were presented to the public.
On stage, director Jake Schreier was accompanied by Sadie Sink, the actress confirmed for the role of Jean Grey. She was the first member of the group to be formally announced during the convention.
“It’s wonderful to be here and finally be able to talk about this character after months of speculation,” Sink told the audience, expressing her joy before inviting the other cast members to the stage.

Adam Driver surprises by being cast as the villain Mr. Sinister
The biggest revelation of the presentation was saved for the end. In a video appearance, Adam Driver confirmed that he will play Nathaniel Milbury, the identity linked to Mr. Sinister, one of the most iconic X-Men villains in comics, an announcement that took many by surprise.

“Kevin and I have talked for years about the possibility of joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe. And I think we’ve finally found the perfect film at the perfect time,” said Driver when announcing the news, highlighting the timing of his entry.
The actor also made a joke related to the character, commenting that he would be “waiting for everyone to arrive” at Pinewood studios to start filming.

Driver’s confirmation officially puts an end to speculation that suggested Brazilian actor Wagner Moura as one of the main candidates for the role of the antagonist. Moura’s name had a lot of repercussion on social media during the rumor phase, but he is not among the artists announced by Marvel.
New cast members may be announced in the future
According to Kevin Feige, president of Marvel Studios, the group of actors revealed at D23 constitutes just the first wave of confirmations for the future X-Men feature film.
The executive signaled that more names will be announced at a later date, complementing the initial cast.
The new X-Men film is scheduled to hit theaters on May 5, 2028.
