Club de Regatas Vasco da Gama is advancing in talks to sign defender Gabriel Pereira, from Copenhagen, Denmark, after Diego Carlos turned down the offer and opted to move to Parma, in Europe. Current negotiations revolve around the financial structure, with the Rio club seeking a loan with an option to buy, while the Danish team prefers a direct sale of the athlete.
Given the unfeasibility of counting on Diego Carlos, Gabriel Pereira appears as the Vasco team’s main choice to reinforce their defense.
There was an initial conversation between the two clubs on August 31, 2026, but the negotiation process presents complexities. Despite having an offer from Panathinaikos, from Greece, the defender showed a preference to play for Vasco in Brazil.
Gabriel Pereira will play a match against Sønderjyske in the Danish league later today and plans to meet with the Copenhagen board after the match to discuss his possible release.
Although negotiations have intensified again, Vasco is in a hurry to finalize the agreement and may seek other alternatives if negotiations are not concluded quickly.
