Coach Carlo Ancelotti will reveal the Brazilian team’s squad on September 9, aiming for the scheduled friendlies against Australia and India. This will be the coach’s first list for the new national team cycle, which begins after the 2026 World Cup and will have the 2028 Copa América and the 2030 World Cup as its main objectives, as communicated by the Brazilian Football Confederation.
Brazil will have three commitments during the first FIFA Date after the world tournament. The team will play against Australia on two occasions: on September 25th, at the Queensland Country Bank Stadium, located in Townsville, and again on September 29th, at Suncorp Stadium, in the city of Brisbane.
Next, the Brazilian delegation will travel to India. The clash with the Indian team is scheduled for October 3 at the Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata. This meeting will be the first clash between the two nations’ main football teams.
Ancelotti has already started the observation phase to choose the athletes who will be part of the list. The coach was in Europe recently, where he watched several matches from the main local championships. He was present at Lille x PSG in France and also scheduled visits to Premier League games in England. Members of its coaching staff are also closely watching the performance of players in national football.
The expectation is that the first call for this new cycle will bring some news. Ancelotti, when announcing the friendlies, indicated his intention to use these matches to scout new talent, especially young ones, with the aim of promoting a renewal in the national team in the coming years.
The planning also includes greater integration of the main team with the youth teams. The technical committee is paying attention to athletes from the under-17 and under-20 teams, as well as other promising names that could be considered for the next Olympic cycle.
