The 20-year-old athlete was traded from Betis to Racing Santander and made a memorable farewell to the club where he spent much of his training. He couldn’t hold back his tears as he left the training center, barely able to communicate with reporters on September 2, 2026.
The scenes recorded show Pablo García visibly shaken, inside a car driven by his mother, who was also very emotional. The player had attended Betis’ facilities to collect his personal items, shortly after his transfer was confirmed in the final hours of the negotiating window.
The strong commotion was not limited to the field. The athlete’s father, Ramón García, also expressed his sadness when talking about the family’s situation. In a statement, he commented that the negotiation occurred suddenly, taking his son by surprise when he found out about his possible departure from the club in the afternoon.
“You saw the boy and his mother, didn’t you? He went to get his things from the closet… We are going through a difficult time,” said Ramón García, adding optimism. “Well, when he starts training, he’ll give everything and I’m sure he’ll make the Racing fans happy.”
The depth of Pablo García’s emotion can be understood by his long association with Betis. The striker dedicated 15 years of his life to the club, going through all the youth categories until reaching the main team. He made his La Liga debut in January 2025 and, in total, accumulated 33 appearances and three goals for the team’s professional setup before his departure.
